Her reaction? Resignation. She hands the little one over to her father without a word and withdraws. Later they argue – she feels misunderstood. So does he. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes the only thing that helps in such a situation is to give room to the other person’s anger. To turn on the “frustration tap” of the other person and let it all run out. And this works best by saying nothing but an empathic “Oh, dear”. What works even better here is a hug. A long, firm hug. And shut up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
